Game. Set. Match.

Brinna was quiet as she made her way up the last line of steps. If Elisa was right, the bitch would be here on the roof waiting for her. She kept her bow drawn as she crept through the open door. The warm summer air brushed along her, drawing a few loose strands of hair across her face. She kept her breathing slow, controlled, as she moved around the side. The sound of the gun pierced the air first, before it sent Brinna back against the wall as the hot bullet pierced her wrist. She cried out as she felt the wolfsbane enter her system as her bow fell from her numb hand. "Your boy had a jaw line for days...." Donielle drawled as she stood holding a gun. A wrapped bundle laid at her feet and Brinna could smell Damions blood. Brinna clenched her jaw as she glared at the Hellspawn. "Give. Him. Back!" Brinna demanded as she kept her eyes on Doni.

Donielle smirked as she put a boot on the bundle. "Why should I? You didn't give a damn about him before. Why now?" Donielle asked as Brinna narrowed her eyes. "Bullshit. He was everything to me. And nothing to you so give him back!" Donielle arched a brow as she watched Brinna push herself away from the wall, blood dripping from the bullet hole in her wrist. "Really? That's not how he felt when he came begging for his end." Donielle watched Brinna freeze, saw the hurt flickering in her gaze. "Lies!" Brinna was fast, Donielle had to admit it as the girl raised her husband's gun and fired several rounds into Donielles torso. Donielle stumbled back with a growl, feeling the bullets. A soft hiss came from the wounds as she looked at the girl. "Blessed bullets. Clever little bitch. Shall I show you how I did it?" Donielle hissed at her.

Brinna felt her heart racing as Donielle lunged at her. Brinna hit the rooftop hard as she swung her gun at the Hellspawn, striking at her face as Donielle fisted a hand in her hair. Brinna cried out when she felt the full force of Donielles mind slam into hers. As a witch, Brinna would have been able to block her. But not now. Brinnas eyes glazed over as Donielle fed the images into her mind. The torment in Damions eyes. The sorrow in his soul. It all played in Brinnas head with crystal clarity. No. No how could he feel that way? How did he not know how much he meant to her? There was no mistaking the look in his eyes. He....really thought they were better without him. Brinna sobbed as she felt Donielle get off her and land a hard blow to Brinnas ribs. Brinna felt them snap as she let out a sob. With the wolfsbane, she couldn't heal.

"See what you've done? I merely ended his suffering....suffering YOU caused, Skyler. You should be thanking me for giving him peace." Donielle said. Brinna curled up on her side as she breathed through the pain. "Liar......Lying is your art! He'd NEVER choose to leave me!" Brinna protested as she kicked out and knocked Donielles feet out from under her. Brinna pounced on her then as she pressed her gun to Donielles forehead. Donielle merely smirked as she looked up at her. "What reason would I have to lie? Especially when you know I'm right." Donielle goaded her as she ran her razor tipped nails along Brinnas thighs. Brinna clenched her jaw as she pulled back the hammer. Donielle could see it. The hesitation. The doubt. "You were getting a place. Without him. What reason would he have left to live after he heard that news, hmm?"

Brinna clenched her jaw so hard she tasted blood as she glared down at the bitch. But what kept replaying in her mind was the look in Damions eyes. The defeat in his gaze. Not even Donielle could fake that. Donielle pushed up against the gun. "I may have ended his life but YOU, Skyler... Brinna.....YOU were the one who killed him." Donielle cooed as she gripped Brinnas wrists. Brinnas emotions were getting the best of her. She knew this. But that didn't help her against Donielle as the Hellspawn struck. She gripped Brinnas wrist with one hand and yanked the gun away as she rose her other hand and clawed the side of Brinnas face to knock her off to the side. Brinna lost her grip on Damions gun as she hit the rooftop, the gun skidding out of her reach.

Brinna scrambled to get it but Donielle knocked her back down with a sharp heeled boot into her spine. Brinna growled as Donielle straddled her back and gripped her hair, slamming Brinnas head into the concrete roof. Brinna saw stars as she couldn't do anything but lay there. Her eyes went to the bundled remains, a sob leaving her. Donielle bent down to her ear. "You whine and cry and blame me when you really should look in a mirror! A pity to die protecting the family you think abandoned you!" Donielle taunted her. "His last thought was to protect you but who protected him? Hm? What good has your fickle love done for him?!" Brinna whimpered as she saw Damions hand as the wind fluttered and raised part of the tarp.

She could see the faint glimmer of his wedding band. And realized none shined on her own because her rings didn't fit in this new body. Her mind went back to their wedding vows.....playing countless memories in her head. Her heart shattered as she realized she failed him. This WAS her fault. She didn't deserve him. "And so ends our game...." Donielle sneered as she pressed her claws to Brinnas throat, ready to tear it open. Brinna closed her eyes tightly. To welcome it. Welcome death as the image of her husbands bloody hand lingered in her minds eye. "I love you. I've loved you since we were 16.....Ill always love you....." Those words Damion had said to her long ago rose up as she felt those razor blades begin to slice into her skin.

Rage flooded Brinna then. Damion would want her to live for him and set this right. "NO!" Brinna shouted as she shifted, taking on her wolf form. The transition lifted Donielle off the ground as Brinna bucked her off her back like a bucking bronco. Brinna let put a snarl as she turned on the Hellspawn. Donielle laughed as she rolled to her feet. "So there IS some fight left! Bring it little girl!" Donielle taunted her as Brinna charged her. The wolf and the woman clashed in a tangle of flesh and fur. Claws and fangs finding purchase in the others flesh as they wrestled along the roof top. Donielle cursed. Brinna snarled. Brinna howled when Donielle sank her fangs into her throat and she felt the burn of the venom. The world spun as Donielle kicked her away. Brinna laid on the roof, panting heavily.

"His love means as much to you as your death means to me. NOTHING." Donielle said dismissively as she rose to her feet. Donielle stepped over Brinna, kicking the back of her head as she walked over to Damion. Brinna let out a whine as she shifted back from wolf to woman. Her ribs screamed as black spots danced in her vision. The venom was working its way through her veins, making her body feel on fire even as the blood leaked from her to stain the roof. Coupled with the wolfsbane, Brinna wished for death. An end to the pain. Everything hurt. She closed her eyes for a moment to catch her breath. When she opened them again, she saw a glimmer of moonlight shine out the corner of her eye. Donielle bent to grab Damions wrapped body, ready to take it to the river and let it rot.

The bang was deafening in Donielles ears as she froze. She gaped in shock as her own blood gushed from her throat. She dropped Damions body, part of the tarp slipping away from the corpse as Donielles blood splattered down onto him. Donielle looked up as her hands grasped her throat to staunch the rush of blood. Surprise and shock filled her. Elisa stood at the top of the stairs with Damions gun trembling in her grip. "Sneaky bitch..." Donielle gurgled, the blood running down her body, as she gasped for air like a fish. It was then Donielle realized someone was beside her and she turned.

Brinna buried the Angel blade Gabriel had taunted her with deep into Donielles chest. Donielle gasped as blood spewed from her mouth. Her surprised eyes found Brinnas tear streaked face. "Tell Hell the Tellers send their regards!"  Brinna snarled as she yanked the blade down the Hellspawns chest, slicing through bone and lung until she hit her heart. Brinna twisted hard before she shoved Donielle off the side of the roof.

Elisa ran to the edge of the roof to look down and make sure the bitch wasnt faking. A sigh of relief left her as she saw Donielles lifeless body impaled on the blade and the iron fence below. Brinna collapsed, exhaustion and weakness from the wolfsbane overwhelming her. Brinna crawled her way to the tarp to reveal the rest of his handsome face; distorted by the broken jaw Donielle had caused. A sob of anguish left Brinna then as she bent over him and ran a bloody hand along his broken jaw. "Oh baby....." Brinna pulled him to her, pressing his face to the open wound at her throat, trying to feed him even though she knew he was gone. A sob left her when there was no breath or even a tremble as her blood filled his mouth. I'm so sorry....."

Luralena watched her daughter silently a moment as she saw her cradle Damion. Bruises formed and blood seeped from her own wounds but Luralena didn't feel them. Her pain were nothing compared to what Brinna was facing. Brinnas pale naked form, streaked with blood, as she rocked his larger frame. She cradled Damions lifeless body to her as she wept and continued to mutter 'I'm sorry' as she rocked with him.  Elisa felt her own tears silently flow as she looked away, her heart breaking with guilt. Luralenas heart twisted in her chest at the sight as she slowly made her way towards Brinna.

"Baby....we have to go..." Luralena said gently as she looked over the edge of the roof and saw the Hellspawns carcass below them. She grabbed Elisas gun and fired several rounds into the bitch's head. "Grams!" Elisa said in surprise. Luralena shrugged as she handed Elisa back the colt. "Just being sure." Luralena said as she grabbed Brinnas kutte, which now laid torn from her shifting to a wolf, and draped it tenderly over Brinnas shoulders gently. Brinna tightened her grip on Damion, so much regret and guilt twisting inside of her. She had let him down. She hadn't loved him enough. His death...it was all her fault. Brinna wiped her cheeks before she slipped her arms into the sleeves of her kutte. She slipped her arms under Damions body, her body screaming with pain as she fought to keep the madness at bay.

"Mama don't. I got him." Elisa said gently as she knelt on the other side of Damion. Elisa held back her tears as she picked her father's body up into her arms. "Come on, baby." Luralena said as she bent down and draped Brinnas arm across her shoulders, to help her stand. Brinna let out a choked sob as her weight leaned against her mother. "Shes done.....it's over...." Brinna said as Lura nodded. "Yea, poppet, you got her." Luralena said proudly as she kissed Brinnas temple before she looked down to their reflection in the puddle of Brinnas blood. "Mary! Levi, bring us home!" Elisa shouted to the sky.

They stood outside the warehouse, watching silently. Luralenas mismatched eyes were narrowed and black with bloodlust. Brinnas was calm and golden from her wolf. Elisas glowing blue gaze were wide and guarded. They were armed and they were ready. And the warehouse itself was quiet and dark. And it was quiet, as if even nature itself knew if the evil here and had chosen to flee. "Stay together. And don't trust anything." Luralena warned before the three Mikaelson women moved forward. A hard kick from Brinnas booted foot knocked the door back on its hinges. Luralena went in first, her eyes darting around the shadows as Brinna brought up the rear to flank Elisa protectively. The silence was daunting and certainly unexpected as the three women went inside.

"Anything?" Brinna asked her daughter as they walked inside. Elisa closed her eyes a moment, her angel rising to the surface. "The roof. There's where I sense the void.....probably cloaking herself." Elisa answered as she looked around. "Perfect. We'll head that way." Brinna said as they headed for the stairs. Brinna was more than a little unnerved by the silence in the warehouse. The stillness. Nothing came at them. Nothing attacked them. And that was more suspicious than anything else. Because Donielle was not one to go quietly. Wasn't one to wait. To bide her time. And she certainly was not one to hold off on getting what she wanted. Or to ignore an opportunity to kill. And she had wanted them all dead for. long time. So why was she waiting? Why wasn't she reacting? Where was the trap? Up the stairs they went....

Luralena glanced around the second floor, frowning a bit when she saw the mist moving along the floor, curling around what looked like cloaked statues. "Here we go...." Luralena said quietly as they moved onto the floor. Brinna raised her bow. Luralena slid her kunais into her palms. Elisa withdrew her colt. Silently, they began to approach the statues. "Stay loose...." Brinna instructed as they began to move through the statues slowly. Being cautious. They scanned every shadow. Waiting. Watching. A snarl came from one statue behind Brinna, the cloaked figure swinging a blade at her back. "Duck!" Luralena said as she released a kunai, Brinna going low as the blade whipped past her head and embedded in the statues forehead, making it instantly explode into ash.

And so it began. Some statues were demons hiding among the other cloaked statues. Claws and blade slashed through the air at the girls as they made their way across the floor. The women growled back, deflecting blows and returning them with their own as they moved. A gasp left Elisas lips when fangs set into her arm. "Screw you!" She said before she put her colt to its temple and pulled the trigger. Blackened blood splattered across Brinna as she fired and arrow at one about to bury its blade into Luralenas back. Each demon birst into ash and blood. The trio of women fought as if they had done so for centuries, using their shared psychic connection to know when to duck, when to strike. Mirroring movements almost like a deadly ballet until they got to the next set of stairs, leaving but a trail of broken statues and blackened stains.
Brinna slammed the door shut before she looked to Elisa. "You okay?" She asked her baby girl as she looked at the blood on her arm. Elisa nodded. "Don't start. We need to keep moving." Elisa said dismissively before the trio again moved their attention to climbing the next flight of stairs.

"Definitely a void on the roof...closer we get the more obvious it is...has to be her." Elisa said as she looked to her mother. Brinna nodded before she moved to the third floor. Another swift kick opened the door before Luralena moved inside first. "Ah fuck......Fucking hate clowns," Luralena grumbled as they walked through the door and onto the next floor. It was like a carnival of corpses. Mirrored floors making a sickening display of brutality. Bodies hung suspended from chains as if acrobats. A clown stood in a platform blowing a plume of fire. A woman spun on a circle as the figure of a male threw its blade at her. A pretty young teenager laid on a bed of nails as a clown piled rocks ontop of her.

Luralena clenched her jaw as they walked through the displays. Again, they were like statues. As if walking among a museum display. Elisa tensed. "Do you hear that?" Elisa asked as she looked around the floor. "Hear what?" Brinna asked as she paused near the bed of nails display. "The souls...." Elisa said sadly as she moved close to one of the clowns. She yelped when the eyes moved to look at her and she jumped back. Brinna gasped as the clown swung a rock at her head. "Fuck!" Luralena growled as a clown fisted a hand in her hair. She swung her kunai as she spun and buried it into the clowns chest.

Again the girls fought but as they did, Elisa could hear the weeping. The sorrow of the souls trapped in the seemingly fake displays. For every demon that went down, the souls grew louder. Elisa sobbed as she felt their pain. "Enough!" Elisa shouted as the light of her wings radiated from her back. Luralena and Brinna ducked as they felt the Shockwave of light come from Elisa, covering their heads as the demons shrieked at the Holy light that sprang from Elisa. "Ejicio vos in nomine domini. Has animas libero in nomine eius. Amen!" Elisa said, the flawless Latin leaving her lips. Brinna and Luralena looked up in surprise as the light vanished and the silence echoed in the building. Elisa bent to one knee to catch her breath as Brinna got up and bent next to her.

"How'd you know what to do?" Brinna asked curiously. Elisa shrugged. "Marry a soul collector and you learn to hear the trapped ones." Elisa said as she looked up. Luralena looked over to the stairway. "I smell Kol......and an angel. They're waiting for us....." Lura said as she looked to Brinna. Brinnas jaw clenched as she stood. Luralena kissed her daughters cheek. "We'll take them.....you get to that bitch." Luralena said. Elisa nodded as Brinna looked to her. "Get daddy back." Elisa said as Brinna hugged her tightly. "You get overwhelmed you call Levi to take you home, you hear me? Don't wait for me or come back." Brinna said as she hugged her baby girl. Luralena and Elisa exchanged a glance before they began to go up the stairs to face the two bastards they knew were waiting for them.

The last line of defense between Brinna and Donielle......

If you want peace, prepare for war

Brinna and Luralena both knew that Donielle would expect them. The Hellspawn would be stupid not to. Mortal weapons didn't hold much power against her but Brinna and Luralena had tricks of their own. As did Elisa. All three generations were dressed for war. Brinna in one of her husband's flannel shirts tucked into her leather pants beneath her leather kutte. Her hair drawn back in several braids. She carried her husband's gun on one hip, her bow and quiver slung across her back. Luralena wore a leather bodysuit, perfectly molded with armored plates beneath the fabric. Her kunai daggers strapped to both thighs. Elegant blond hair swept back in a twist. Under her grandmother's insistence, Elisa wore a white satin bodysuit like her grandmother's, Leviathans dagger nestled in a sheath on her left wrist and the Enchanted colt on her right hip.

"As the more experienced one, I go in first. I'll go left, Brinna you'll have the right flank. Elisa, you're least experienced so you hang back and cover both of us. Use the colt and save the blade only for if something breaks our lines." Luralena instructed as she checked braided Elisas hair back. Elisa nodded as she stood up. Elisa lowered her eyes. "This is all my fault......I fought with daddy. Said such cruel things...." She said regretfully as she let a tear slip down her cheek. Brinna shook her head as she put a hand on her pups shoulder. "No, baby. This is not your fault. This is mine. I should have loved him better. Should have known something was wrong." Brinna said to comfort her baby girl.

"Hey! This isn't a contest. We don't know what happened, or why. Just that he's gone. But we're getting him back. So none of that shit matters. Clear your heads and get your game faces on. Donielle is a tricky bitch. Don't give her darkness any help by succumbing to it before we even get inside." Luralena snapped sternly as she looked up. She saw Xia walk in silently. "Here." The Godkiller said softly as she held out three lengths of thin braided ropes. "Each of you take one. Wear it around your neck. It'll shield your minds from the darkness." Xi explained. One by one the girls grabbed a braid and tied them like chokers. "Drink this next. It'll last only a few hours and give you one hell of a hangover but.....it'll allow you access to my abilities and some of Raths." Xi explained as she handed Brinna a glass of glowing red liquid streaked with shimmering black.

Brinna drank first, gasping at the taste on her tongue before she past it to Luralena. Lura drank some down fast enough it didn't even hit her tongue as she shook her head. Elisa finished the glass, coughing a bit as she swallowed. As the only nonvampire, the taste of blood was disgusting. But when she felt the sudden rush of power, she shivered. "Whoa....remind me not to piss any of you off." She said as she felt almost like she was high from the rush of power in her veins. Brinna shook her head to clear it as she looked to the women of her bloodline. She looked to Xi and frowned a bit at what she saw in her eyes. "Xi.....you know something I dont?" Brinna asked suspiciously. The Godkiller only shook her head. "No, love. Just praying for your safe return." Xia lied as she smiled a bit.

"Blessed hunting, ladies." Xia said formally as Luralena gripped Xias arm in a traditional warriors handshake. "Keep them boys in line, yeah?" Lura said before she looked to the walk of the club house. Elisa moved to stand infront of the wall and began to draw the sigil on the wall. She took a deep breath as she whispered the portal spell, opening the veil between here and the Hellspawns home. Xia watched as she straightened her back and watched the women she loved most straighten their spines and begin to go through the portal to the other side.

Goodbye Lullaby

Skyler slipped out of the bathroom, tiptoeing to sneak back into her husband's arms and sleep. Lately, things had been strange between them. Mostly since Dones last battle they borh felt different. Drifting maybe. It was no easy thing either of them went through so ot made sense if they both were a bit messed up from it all. Nut youd think that would bring them together. not push them apart. Tonoght had been different though. Calmer. Romantic even. But as she walked, something felt strange. The room seemed to tilt as her head felt light. Then it came, like a sharp and violent stab into her chest, as if someone had buried a red hot poker between her ribs and twisted it.

The room tilted as she stumbled down the hall. She felt drunk, disoriented, as she staggered. A strange metallic taste filled her mouth and she leaned against the wall to try and support herself. Again, that sharp pain came and this time she couldn't stop herself from crying out and she fell to her knees. Something was wrong! Something was very wrong. She thought this was just her nerves about her future with Damion! But what?! She coughed hard and gasped when she saw the blood, her blood, splatter across the carpet. She felt the walls tremble again, as if an Earthquake was shaking the walls. "D!" She called for her husband as she tried to push herself up. What the hell was wrong with her?!

True Terror comes from within...

Skyler used a towel to lightly dry her damp curls as she padded out of the bathroom. Damion wanted her at his place but, honestly, this was all too new for her. And she needed space to adjust. So she promised to stay at the small rooms at the Clubhouse. At least here he knew she was protected what with Club members always going in and out and one of the prospects never a scream away incase of trouble. She sat on the edge of the bed thoughfully. Her life had undergone such a turn since she came here. She went from being alone, an orphan legacy, in New Orleans to this....family as Damion called them. Even if Skyler hadn't most of them yet. Honestly, it was overwhelming. Even more so than New Orleans. At least there, she knew the rules. Knew the people. The location. And above all, she knew the ways. Charming was a total different world. She felt out of place here. The new kid, so to speak.

"You're expecting too much of yourself," she said to her reflection in the mirror. "You just.....you need to relax. Go with the flow. Sometimes things have to go wrong, in order to go right," she said to herself, trying to quell her anxiety. "Mom always said it....so did uncle Sav. I'll be fine. Just gotta be me....everything else will go fine. I can do this." She sighed as she threw the towel onto the chair and slipped into one of Damions t-shirts, smirking at how big it was on her. The way it brushed her knees and fell off one shoulder. "Gimme a belt and itd be a cute dress." She mused before she let herself sprawl onto the bed.

She gripped a pillow and yawned before she let sleep find her once more. When was the last time she had slept anyway? She didn't even remember at the moment. So much had happened so fast, she hadn't let herself stop to rest. Now, as she finally laid down alone and let herself drift. Her body going limp as sleep finally took hold of her. Skylers exhausted carried her deep, so deep that she didn't notice the ripple in the reflection as the skoti peered through the glass to watched her. Mirrors were portals as much as running water was, windows to the other side. A fact that Skyler had overlooked in her weariness. And Skoti were such devious dream demons, dark red grin crossing its face as it curled over the sleeping reflection of her. It hovered there a moment, just watching her....allowing her some time to slip into sweet dreams....before it laid over her and seemed to melt into her like a soul.

The music was loud in her ears as she danced. Skylers dress swirled around her as her father spun her around the floor. "Theres a smile. I was beginning to think we'd never see it again," Elijah said as he kissed her cheek. Skyler looked around as they danced. Skyler remembered this. Her birthday. That's what this was. She laid her head on her father's shoulder as they danced together. "I missed you, daddy...." She said softly, as she took in his familiar smell. "I'm always with you, little flower." He said as he kissed the top of her head. "Come on, it's time...." He said as he slowed to a stop. Skyler frowned. "Time for what?" She asked as she took his hand. He put a finger to his lips with a soft smile. He held her hand as he walked with her through the foyer to where her mother stood in the garden of black roses.

"Come on, baby...." Her mother said as she reached for her. As Skyler reached for her mothers hand, the flowers erupted around them. Shadowy claws burst from the petals and reached for Skyler. Skyler cried out as they began to grasp onto her. "NO!" She looked back to her father and she screamed as she saw the blood running from his eyes. The rotting of his corpse. Skyler felt the claws grasp and yank at her hair, gripping her, dragging her. "No! Let me go!" She tried her fight, tried to run. "Baby, it's okay," she heard in her ear. She looked and let out a sob as she saw Damions face.....but it was filled with hate as fangs buried into her throat. "NO!! ITS NOT REAL!" She shrieked as she tried to shove him away. But she was pinned, the dark claws tearing into her as he tore open her throat. She struggled and thrashed around her as she smelt the gasoline. The smoke. "NO! WAKE UP! WAKE UP!" Smoke filled the air around her as she found herself trapped in that wreck again. Her blood gushing bright as the shadowy claws held her...smothered her as dirt seemed to fill the car. Oh gods, she was buried alive! In her car. Suffocating. As she clawed and tried to break, she screamed but knew no one would hear her as the dirt filled in the cracks. And with her own screams came the overlay of others. Her parents. Her uncles. Her wolf. Damion. All calling out for her help. Needing her. But she couldn't get to them......

Skyler whimpered as she thrashed on the bed, a cold sweat beaded on her skin. The walls trembled, the bed shook, pictures on the walls fell and glass shattered. The lights flickered as Skyler thrashed in the sheets, a coil of them curling around her throat, slowly as she strangled for breath. She was trapped in her own true nightmare.....and in the mirror crouched the dream demon, holding the sheet in the reflection. If Skyler couldnt wake up to break the demons hold.....i

Vengeance

Skyler jolted awake in her bed, her heart pounding inside of her chest. She felt the cool breath at the back of her neck. She took a deep breath as she slid on one of Damions shirts and quietly made her way downstairs. Her wolf, Kal, silently followed her as she went to the gardens. The wolf let out a deep growl as she paused. "Shadows suit you, Leon." She said softly as she folded her arms across her chest, her face cold as she saw the blue eyed demon seem to melt from the darkness to stand before her. Once....Skyler thought him beautiful. But she knew beneath that beautiful face was a monster. One that destroyed her world. But perhaps what took her aback as she gazed at him, was the regret in his eyes.

"Its good to see you, Lady Mikaelson." He said formally as he went to one knee before her. Skyler kept her face expressionless as she watched him. "There are no words that could ease the pain....or my crimes against your kin. You owe me nothing yet I owe you everything.....Yet I would beg a favor of you." He said softly as his head bowed. Skyler's jaw clenched ever so slightly as she looked down at him. "Release me.....The blood of your kin once soaked my hands.....and now I would beg you to take the justice you deserve. Free me.....and claim the vengeance of your family." He begged her. Skyler felt her fangs sharpen against her gums. This man....this demon....had taken so much in her mortal life. Tortured her parents. Stole her mother's heart and gave it to a demon who had nearly killed them all. And now here he knelt....begging her to end his life.

She took a slow step towards him. Then another. Until her bare legs brushed his bowed head. She reached a hand down and trailed her fingers through his hair. He trembled beneath her touch. She paused. Contemplating. Her grip on his hair yanking him to his feet as her other hand punched hard. Splintering ribs and tearing through sinew. He cried out as blood spat from his lips. She felt his heart beating in her palm as her fingers curled around it. Felt the tar like stickiness of his blood on her skin as her glowing silver eyes found his panicked blue ones. "This.....is what they felt...." She growled as she squeezed the throbbing muscle. "What I felt....when you ripped their hearts out infront of me. Knowing I would feel it. See it." She said as she squeezed it tighter, making him sob. She got nose to nose with him as she held him. "I should rip you apart.....one piece at a time. But....." She said before she spit in his face. "That'd give you relief. And YOU don't deserve to be free." She said before she yanked his head back hard.

"You don't deserve mercy. Or kindness." She buried her fangs deep into his throat then. Her hand tightened. Squeezing his heart until she felt it burst like a grape in her fist. His screams echoed before fading into silence. She dropped his corpse as she stepped back, blood smeared across her lips. A smirk curved her lips as she saw him rise then.....a transparent soul hovering over his body. "Only the brave deserve the peace of death. Of Heaven. But the Gates will forever be closed to you. I CURSE you....to wander this mortal world. You will ache in unimaginable ways with no solace. No comfort. No peace. A powerless Shade. No one will hear your voice. No food nor drink will ever ease your thirst. No warmth will soothe you. You are nothing. And will forever remain as nothing." Skyler said as she drew the sigil into his corpse with her bloody fingertips. His soul and body seemed to burst then, the black soot of him lifting up into the air to carry it away along with her curse.

Skyler felt a cold numbing sensation wash over her. Magic always came with a cost, even hers. And it was no small thing to curse not just a body but a soul. Skyler felt the world spin around her before she collapsed, her wolf letting out a bark as it moved to cushion her fall. "I'm okay...I'm fine...." Skyler slurred softly against the wolfs fur as he laid down with her

Bloody Nightmares

The sound of running caught Suras attention as she twirled in her new princess dress. She paused, her head tilting to one side as she saw her mother burst into her room and slam the door shut quickly. "Safe room, baby!" Skyler commanded as she slid the iron bolt into place. Sura felt her stomach drop as she ran to her window seat and pushed up the heavy lid. Her mother looked panicked. This wasn't like her. Skyler ran over and helped push aside the array of toys in the window box to reveal the hidden door in the bottom. "Hurry....you remember the path, baby?" Skyler asked as she looked at the door. Sura jumped when she heard something hard beginning to hit her heavy bedroom door. Sura let out a whimper of fear as she grabbed her prized bunny. "Mommy, what is that?" Sura asked as she leaned into her mothers legs. "The bad ones, baby. Its okay, Mommys gonna keep you safe." Skyler said softly as she kissed the top of Suras head. Skyler felt the floor tremble as the banging started again and Sura let out a sob. "Sssshh, its going to be okay baby. Come on..." Skyler said as she picked her up and set Sura down into the door. Sura but her bottom lip fearfully as she held her bunny in one arm and scooted down. "Quiet as the snowfall, baby." Skyler said as Sura slid into the hiding spot beneath the window seat. Sura slid the iron latch into place to secure the door over her head. She could hear the door beginning to splinter as Skyler pushed down the hidden door and shut the window seat.

Sura bit down hard on her bottom lip as she hid, wide eyes watching through the thick slabs of wood. She held her bunny to her face as she heard the door splinter and crack. "Give us the child!" A deep voice snarled. "Fuck you!" Skyler snapped. Sura squeezed her eyes shut as she heard the fighting start. Boom! Crack! She could hear furniture snap. Heard flesh hit flesh as she laid as still as she could in the small space. It seemed to last forever as the smell of blood and smoke hit Suras nostrils. She pressed her face into her bunny to stifle her tears as it seemed to go silent. "Stop fighting!" That demonic growl commanded, forcing Suras eyes to open. She squinted to look through the cracks and her eyes went wide as she saw the large horned demon standing over her mother. Skyler was panting as she glared up at the beast. Skyler was beaten and bloody, her legs bent under her as blood pooled beneath her. "Never. She's mine! I'll die before I let you touch her!" Skyler said as she spat a mouthful of blood at the demon.

The demon snarled as he raised a clawed hand. "Then death you shall face!" He snarled. Sura gasped and squeezed her eyes shut. "Mommy!" Her scream shook the house as a strange red smoke shot out from Suras hiding spot. The child's scream echoed loudly as Sura felt the floor tremble beneath her. The smell of blood grew stronger as the house fell into silence. A deafening silence that left Sura more frightened than ever as she slowly opened her eyes. She whimpered as she saw the blood reaching towards her, seeping through the cracks. She forced herself to look up through the cracks and she saw nothing. Nothing but broken body parts and splattered remains.

Sura looked up when she heard knocking overhead. "Hopscotch." She heard in her mothers voice. Sura opened the lock and Skyler opened the lid. "Close your eyes." Skyler said as Sura climbed out of her hiding spot. "Mommy, you're bleeding." Sura stammered. Skylers bloody lips twisted. "Mommy's fine. Close your eyes." Skyler said as she drew Sura into her arms and pressed her face into her neck as she picked her up. Sura clung to her mother tightly as the woman carried her through the destroyed house. Sura glanced to the floor behind her mother and she whimpered. Broken bodies. Corpses. So much blood. Sura saw a shadow move and she gasped. But she was too late....

Sura bolted upright in her bed, her hand instantly raising to form an energy sphere. The fragrant red smoke flooded her senses like sweet perfume. She felt the tears on her cheeks, her lips pursing as she forced herself to take deep breaths. 1......In.....Out. 2.....In....Out. The energy orb vanished as she lowered her hand and drew it to the jagged scar at her collarbone. Sweat dampened her hair and sheets as she rubbed at her scar, a fruitless attempt to rub away the phantom pain. She sighed as she calmed. As she did, the crystals floating around her all dropped to the floor as the red smoke vanished.
